About Traveling With The Jones

Janis and Jeff JonesWelcome, traveler!  We are Janis and Jeff Jones — road warriors, cruise aficionados, food and wine lovers, and weekend adventurers. Our careers — Mr. Jones is an information technology consultant, while Mrs. Jones is a marketing consultant and a partner in a travel company — make us frequent fliers. We enjoy exploring the world, whether by cruise ship, train, hiking or the local bus. During our years of travel, we’ve acquired some of our best insights from other travelers who’ve shared their first-hand experiences via the internet.

In this blog, we enthusiastically share our travel discoveries, tips and insights to inspire others that might be considering a destination that we’ve explored.

During the summer of 2007, we quit our jobs in Seattle and made a 127-day exploration of Europe, mostly by cruise ship.  That mid-career transitional travel journey was the beginning of this blog, starting with this post: Nothing but Blue Skies and Blue Seas.

Learn about how we became travelers and found each other in A Girl, A Guy and Their Travel Love Story.

If the Great State of Alaska is on your radar, Mr. Jones is a proud native. See all things Alaska here.

We enjoy learning a little about places before we visit, compiling our notes into these Fun Facts from Travel Destinations Around the World.

You should know that we use frequent flier miles, hotel points and our hard-earned cash to finance our travels. If we receive any travel benefit or affiliate compensation, we will clearly disclose that relationship in the related post. All opinions expressed in this blog are ours, or that of the guest author of the post.
