In downtown Toronto, this sculpture of hockey players is found on Yonge Street, outside of the Hockey Hall of Fame, which is located in a former Bank of Montreal building.
The site is dedicated to the history of ice hockey, housing exhibits about players, teams and all kinds of hockey memorabilia. The vault of the former bank is handy for storing National Hockey League trophies including the Stanley Cup.
Visitors can gaze at all things hockey, from a collection of pucks from around the world to NHL records. They can also try taking a shot at a goal tended by a life-sized, computer simulated-goaltender using real pucks and a stick.
Each year in June an 18-person committee meets to select new Hall of Fame honorees, who are inducted as players, builders or on-ice officials. Those chosen are inducted into the Hall of Fame in a November ceremony at the Hall of Fame building.
