I spent two nights at the Hilton Narita Airport Hotel after flying ANA flight 007 from San Francisco to Narita International Airport that’s located 37 miles east of central Tokyo.
Narita is Japan’s second largest and busiest international airport.
Arrival and Hotel Check-In
The Hilton Narita Airport hotel offers a free shuttle bus between the airport and the hotel. The shuttle times vary. Check the current schedule and pickup location here.
Once on the shuttle, the hotel is about a 15 minute ride from the airport.
The shuttle bus delivers you to the front of the Narita Airport Hilton hotel.
I found the shuttle to run on schedule. The shuttle was a full-size bus which helpful as it was crowded when I arrived.
The Hilton Narita hotel was busy at check-in, but they had a separate Honors line which sped up the process.
The hotel lobby features a seating area as well as several shops.
Diamond Benefits were explained and a business card summarizing those benefits were handed out during check-in. This was a nice touch.
I stayed at this hotel using Hilton Honors points. This hotel award stay cost 20,000 points per night, which I found very reasonable for a hotel near Tokyo, Japan.
Hotel Room
My assigned room was #1143 at the Hilton Narita Airport hotel, which is considered a Deluxe Plus Queen category room.
It was a standard hotel room but on a high floor so it had a nice view of the countryside.
I found the room to be dated but clean, roomy and functional. Check out this post for a full photo tour of room 1143.
One of the hotel’s special local touches were two Yukata Japanese cotton kimono in each room, rather than the standard cotton robe.
I was excited to find two bottles of water and a delicious cookie in my room as a Hilton Honors gift welcome gift.
Hotel Dining / Executive Lounge
The Hilton Narita Airport Hotel does not have an executive lounge. Breakfast in the hotel’s Terrace Restaurant was included as Hilton Honors Diamond benefit.
The buffet breakfast included a mix of western and Asian dishes.
This Hilton hotel is popular with tour groups and airline flight crews, so the breakfast area was crowded even at 6:30 am.
Hotel Location
The location of the Hilton Narita Airport hotel is a bit isolated.
The hotel does, however, provide a free shuttle to Narita City, to the Narita JR Train station, and to the AEON Mall. The shuttles were nice but very crowded.
Bottom Line on the Narita Airport Hilton
The pros of this hotel:
- Good value for a Tokyo area hotel using Hilton Honors Awards Points
- Convenient location for visitors to Japan arriving and/or departing Narita International Airport
- Frequent shuttles to take you to the JR Train Station, the Mall and the airport
- Large size rooms for Japan
- Crowded hotel but fast service for Hilton Honors Members
Cons of this hotel:
- Rooms are somewhat dated in decor
- Remote location — need to take shuttle to connect to anywhere
- Lots of flight crews and tour groups result in crowding at check-in and on shuttles
Bottom line, I’d stay again when making a quick-stay trip to Japan via Narita International Airport.
