During our a 7-Day Canada and New England cruise, we found spent a day exploring Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island or PEI.
From our port city of Charlottetown, we rented a car and headed to the east end of PEI. It was a glorious day as we explored lighthouses, red-soiled potato fields, and lush greenery as we searched for the perfect lobster roll.
Although Mr. Jones had visited the beaches of Prince Edward Island as a child, this was my first visit to PEI. This means that I get to update my progress on The Travelers’ Century Club List of 324 Destinations.
The Travelers’ Century Club, or TCC, is a club for people who have visited 100 or more of the world’s countries and territories. The TCC list of countries and territories includes not only sovereign states but also certain territories, exclaves and island groups. The club literature notes that “although some are not actually countries in their own right, they have been included because they are removed from parent, either geographically, politically or ethnologically.”
Anyone who has visited 100 or more of the places on the list is eligible to join. The club has no requirements as to how long the traveler must have stayed in a country to qualify. Travelers who have visited 75 or more of the list places can become provisional members.
In case you are interested in what The Travelers’ Century Club counts as a destination on the list, see the list below. We have noted in BOLD those destinations that we have visited, allowing us to track our progress.
The current total TCC destination count stays at 100 for Mr. Jones, while my count increases to 102. Since we both travel separately for work, and we traveled separately prior to 1996, there are some minor differences in our countries and territories visited.
