What’s the food like the Seabourn Sojourn?
The food on a cruise ship is almost always of interest to potential cruisers for that ship.
We had heard some complaints from a few cruises on earlier segments of this cruise.
Happily, we can report that we enjoyed most all of the food on this cruise, and felt that it was similar to dining in a fine restaurant.
Here’s a look at the daily menu on an 11-Day Segment of the 2014 World Cruise sailing from Singapore to Mumbai.
Menus are delivered to guests’ suites each evening for meals on the following day.
Take a look and see how it sounds to you.
There are three different dining venues on the Sojourn, in addition to 24-hour in-suite dining.
This is the in-suite dining menu.
The room service menu doesn’t change, but you may also order off of the Restaurant menu during scheduled dining hours. The menu also does not offer caviar, but you can order it through room service 24 hours a day.
The fruit of the day changes daily and is delivered in your suite.
The Colonnade is a more casual cafe, with the option of choosing some items off the buffet and ordering some through table service. While we enjoyed breakfast and lunch occasionally in the Colonnade – we did not eat dinner there.
The Patio Grill is outdoor dining by the pool. We enjoyed casual lunches there, but did not have dinner there during our cruise.
Each day the dinner menu for the Colonnade and the Patio Grill changed, and where included in the menus delivered to each guests suite the night before.

We dined at Restaurant 2 and found the tasting menu rich, with a variety of tastes.
Day 2 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
The lobster starter and main course were divine.

Day 4 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
Day 5 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
Day 6 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
This was the Chef’s Dinner in The Restaurant. It was smaller ports of all courses with the choose of one appetizer. There was also a vegetarian main course selection.
Day 7 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
Day 8 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
Day 9 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
Day 10 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
Day 11 Dinner Menus for The Restaurant and Restaurant 2
While some food could be a little bland compared to the local Indian dishes, the “Madras Style” Shrimp on this menu were fiery (and delicious!)
On Seabourn, you can order any special foods that you want with 24 hours notice. If they have the ingredients on board to make the dish, they will.
One interesting note: unlike some other cruise lines with World Cruises, the menus where not continuously new throughout the 116 days. Some of the full cruise guests said menus were repeated throughout the cruise, particularly in Restaurant 2, with only about seven different tasting menus.
Of course, there are 4 different dining venues each evening, each with a different menu.
What do you think of these menus? Would you have a hard time making a dinner selection? Please share in comments below.
